Named for the Greek god of passionate love, Taverna Eros strives to exemplify all things beloved in Greek culture—the food, the wine, the festivities…well, really, what more do you need than that?
The restaurant’s interior reflects a modern design with a subtle Mediterranean twist, showcasing romantic images of the old country throughout. Visitors can also opt to dine outdoors, soaking in the hustle and bustle of the Atlantic Avenue scene as they eat. Live belly dancers perform Thursday through Saturday during dinner hours, followed by a live in-house DJ later on. When it comes to the food, you can find all of the Greek favorites. Who doesn’t start a meal at a Greek restaurant without some saganaki, the famous “flaming cheese” set alight before your very eyes? It’s worth it just to hear your waiter yell “Opa!” As for its spotlight main courses, Taverna Eros is renowned for its lamb chops, cooked in a marinade of olive oil, rosemary, and garlic. The kebabs are also popular—shrimp, steak, fish, or chicken grilled in olive oil, oregano, and garlic and served over rice.
